About Gold Coast PCYC
The Gold Coast PCYC was established in 1974 and began with a small building at Surfers Paradise, before moving to the club’s current premises at 180 Monaco Street, Broadbeach Waters.
The club has now grown dramatically in size with the current building consisting of a main stadium hall, padded Judo room, large boxing room with boxing ring, dance/karate room, recreation/meeting/chill out room, two tennis courts and children’s playground. A new, stand-alone, state of the art gymnasium was opened in early November 2005.
The Gold Coast PCYC has continued to grow, with around 30 staff and over 5,100 members at the end of 2007. We now provide over 27 sporting and recreational activities for persons of all ages from newborn babies to retired persons.
The Gold Coast PCYC is administered by two police officers, the manager at the rank of Sergeant. All other staff are employed by the club and paid out of club budgets. Income for the club is generated through club activities and other fund raising activities including major sponsorship received from a number of local businesses.
