About Hervey Bay PCYC
The Hervey Bay PCYC Community Recreation Centre was opened in March 1998 and has grown to become the largest sport and recreation community centre in the city, the Fraser Coast and the Wide Bay area, with 2500 current members and over 58,000 attendances in the 2008 financial year. The PCYC now offers 33 different activity programs as part of the daily and evening timetable.
Our branch endeavours to offer a wide range of sporting, recreational, community, cultural and welfare programs in response to local community needs. The Centre includes two large indoor sports courts, a large upstairs multi-purpose floor area, youth entertainment centre and a fully equipped weights room.
Presently the PCYC caters for 37 soccer teams, 19 netball teams, 8 volleyball teams and is also the home base of Hervey Bay Basketball and Netball Associations. Retirees' and over 50's classes of badminton, general exercise, and Life ball operate throughout the week.
We hold annual events such as Arts and Crafts Expo, wedding expos, boxing and kickboxing tournaments. Recreational Camps, holiday care, youth leadership training and activities, bicycle education courses and social events are also held throughout the year.
