Volunteering
To become a volunteer at the Ipswich PCYC you need to come into the branch or give us a call. All staff and volunteers require a Child Suitability Card (Blue Card) however this can be arranged upon volunteer approval. We have a variety of different areas for volunteers to work in. These are: maintenance, childcare, Pulse Discos and cleaning. We are always looking for reliable, enthusiastic people to join our team. So give us a call TODAY!!
About Ipswich PCYC
Ipswich PCYC has been servicing the Ipswich area since it opened its doors on November 13th, 1965. The club started out as a small hall housing boxing classes and has developed over the last 42 years into the number one club in the state. We pride ourselves in having ‘Something for everyone’. We have over 20 activities for all ages – whether you’re two or ninety-two.
In 2007 we were awarded 3 major awards: the Rudy Sandy Memorial Encouragement Award for outstanding work with the local indigenous community; the Quest News Business Achievers Award in Fitness & Sport for outstanding customer service and product quality; and the Queensland PCYC Branch of the Year (more than 1500 members).
In 2008 we had over 5000 members, a record for the branch, and we hope to improve on that in 2009. The Ipswich PCYC services the Ipswich area from Goodna to Rosewood and out to Boonah and Esk. We have a number of new activities being developed for 2009 and are excited about a very promising future.
