About Mackay PCYC

Mackay PCYC is one of the premier sporting and recreational facilities in the region. This facility has the capacity to cater for all types of events and functions, including high level competitive sporting events such as basketball, netball, indoor soccer, volleyball, badminton, etc...

We can also cater for business meetings, seminars, conferences, awards nights, school formals, expos, craft shows, markets and any type of celebration. Various programs are run from the centre including bike education, before/after school and vacation care, Teenage Adventure Impact Program, Duke of Edinburgh Award and many other programs specific to the community needs at the time.

We aim for our programs to be dynamic, fun and affordable. The PCYC staff provide quality care and are committed to ongoing improvement. There is also a Youth Management Team that provides advice to management on the activities and events that the young people want. The team also plans, leads and organises these activities and events, which goes towards completing their individual Duke of Edinburgh Award if they wish.

The Mackay PCYC originally opened on 3rd October 1992 with a small hall and kitchen. It has continued to grow with Stage 2 opening on 12th August 2000. The centre continues to improve and expand and boasts a high 4000 to 5000 attendances each month. For 2008 we had a branch record of 1207 members and 52615 attendances. Our aim is to exceed that number in 2009.
