Our A.G.M. will be held on the 13th September 2009 at the Wellington Street venue, commencing at 10 a.m. and with light lunch been served at 11 a.m. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the out going committee who have done a marvellous job over the past twelve months, evident with 53% growth been experienced throughout the branch. Christine ALDERSON, Chairperson, has demonstrated sound leadership and should be commended. Since coming to the club in 1991 as a mother she has gone on to be a strong representative of our volunteers, and has seen many changes over those years. The North Queensland PCYC Awards night saw our club again take out many of the categories and I would like now to congratulate all the winners and finalist. Currently we are on track to |
|
finish with around 2500 members for the year and this puts us up there as the biggest club outside of the Brisbane, South/East corner. This growth has required us to make some significant changes to our operations and we are currently review our business. We are hoping to add a few more activities to our service, as well as expand what the gym has to offer. We are currently looking at staff during the weekends to try and stop misuse of the gym and damage occurring around the centre. Our Basketball After Dark program has also taken off and will continue to run until the end of October when we will review it. All in all these are exciting times for the club and I look forward to continuing the success that we have experienced over the past few years. Until next time, thanks. |
