2011 Under Privileged Children's Movie Days
From September until December 2011, PCYC will be selling sponsorships to businesses in a series of children's movie days scheduled to be held in Birch Carrol & Coyle and Reading Cinemas around Regional Queensland in mid December this year.
Sponsorship sales will be undertaken by "Projects for Children" on behalf of PCYC and they will commence telemarketing operations outside of the south east corner of the State in early September.
PCYC expects to host thousands of disadvantaged Queensland children on December 10th, 11th, 17th & 18th who don't get the opportunity to enjoy going to see a movie because of financial hardship or other reasons including illness, or some form of physical disability at a particular time in their lives.
The fundraiser has been approved by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading with PCYC in addition to taking kids to the movies receiving 27% of the proceeds after expenses to provide opportunities for young people to take part in very affordable sporting and recreational activities, youth development and leadership programs, and drug and alcohol free entertainment options aimed at keeping kids off the street.
Sponsorships will be sold @ $50 per child with group sponsorship sales being encouraged to ensure as many kids as possible can attend within the limits of the various cinema complexes participating to seat the young people attending.
