PCYC Partners with St. Vincent de Paul Society
Following on from a successful trial with our South Eastern Region Branches, PCYC now supports St. Vinnies state-wide. PCYC provides free membership and access to certain activities to disadvantaged families and young people referred by St. Vinnies volunteers to anyone of our network of 45 Branches.
We hope to work with other charitable organisations in early 2009 to assist their client’s needs as well.
State Youth Leadership Program (SYLP)
PCYC delivers a comprehensive Leadership Program throughout its state-wide Branch network to hundred’s of young people annually who are identified to take part in, or want to be involved in our Association
Our young people have access to three levels of SYLP programming and the option to become involved as a youth management team member, youth delegate and may be even a TILT member down the track.
SYLP is free of charge to all participants and equips youngsters over time to provide a valuable contribution in their local community and to assist them to make positive life choices.
CAPE Program & Indigenous Community Branches
PCYC provides free activities and support services to literally hundreds of young people as we roll out the CAPE Program to remote indigenous communities in Far North Queensland. In conjunction with our fully established PCYC Branches on Palm Island, Mornington Island and at Yarrabah, we continue to make a huge difference in the quality of life for all of the young people and their families who choose to be part of our ever increasing PCYC family which has grown to over 75,000 members state-wide.
Employment, Self Esteem and Developmental Programs
PCYC Branches continue to provide programs free of charge in these three key areas subject to funding and grant approvals from Government, Philanthropic Trusts and Individuals. To find out what is on or planned at your local PCYC with regard to these important issues, contact your Branch Manager to discuss participation, or to express an interest in starting a program which addresses local needs
Providing support to our members, staff and families
In times of need through a welfare fund established by our Board to assist anyone involved in PCYC through difficult times or circumstances in their lives.
Community groups, youth agencies and welfare groups
All of our Branches try to assist local community, youth and welfare groups through use of PCYC facilities at reduced or no charge. We also continue to engage with school students by having them take part in various activities to introduce them to the PCYC experience.
