PCYC Doomadgee parkrun declared a success!

PCYC Doomadgee’s first community parkrun recently was a major success, with 43 participants completing the 5km course. The community running event known internationally as the ‘parkrun movement’ encourages people to run, jog or walk, and volunteer on Saturday and Sunday mornings somewhere in the world. Congratulations to our Indigenous Community Sport & Recreation Officer Mel Gilbert for co-directing the Doomadgee
parkrun, which according to parkrun Australia, is the first in the world to be held in an Indigenous community and is also the most remote.
