Exercise of the Month: Lateral Shoot Throughs


Start on all fours on your hands and feet/bear position. Turn your body to the right, keeping your right foot and your left hand on the ground. In the same motion, lift your right hand up and push your left foot and leg out like you’re kicking to the side across your body. Repeat the movement on the other side.  

  1. In starting position try to make a 90-degree angle with your legs
  2. Keep your hands in line with your shoulders  
  3. Contract your core muscles to improve your balance during the movement  
  4. Make sure you don’t have straight legs in the start position, this will affect the movement, overstressing your knees, ankles and hips
