Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games – one year on
As part of their sports assets program Embracing 2018, one year ago the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games kindly gifted a range of sport assets to PCYC clubs across Queensland.
Excitingly, equipment for gymnastics, weightlifting, boxing, netball, squash and beach volleyball were delivered to clubs as far north as Edmonton and Cairns, as far south as Nerang, and as far west as Mount Isa and Cloncurry, providing long lasting benefits to our members and clubs ever since.
Sport participants and the next generation of athletes have been inspired to live healthier and more active lifestyles and the funds that would have normally been allocated to purchasing this equipment has allowed PCYC Queensland to allocate these funds into building safer, healthier communities through youth development.
The great legacy the sports assets have provided live on in PCYC Queensland clubs across the state, and we are thrilled to see how the positive impact continues to make a difference in the lives of young Queenslanders!
