Importance of Gymnastics Safety
Safety rules and procedures protect gymnasts from injury and ensure a positive safe environment for all. We work to educate our gymnasts that safety is not only looking out for those around us but also properly preparing our bodies for the movements we are about to perform.
Warming up is the most important part of every lesson as it prepares the body to learn new skills and helps prevent injuries from occurring. Cooling down is also an essential step in a gymnastics class to bring down your heart rate and body temperature and to reduce muscle soreness.
We also practice safety in the gym by looking out for our teammates, following directions from our coach and treating our equipment with respect at all times.
