Meet our member of the month: Tina from PCYC Beenleigh
Tina has consistently attended PCYC Beenleigh since 2020, comes in rain, hail or shine and is fast to help new members feel welcome!
What is your favourite thing about PCYC Beenleigh?
My favourite thing about PCYC Beenleigh is the fitness friends and instructors I’ve made over the past few years! I also appreciate the ‘no selfie mirror’ in the toilets!
What is your favourite workout?
I love doing the classes that PCYC Beenleigh run because:
- Someone else has decided my exercise for me!
- I get to meet the same/new people on a regular basis.
- I’m motivated/pushed in the fitness classes.
- It’s a good measure to assess what my fitness level is and how I am progressing.
- And of course, the fitness instructor rocks!
Tell us about how your fitness journey is going?
My fitness journey started when I was 5 years-of-age when I came second in my first running race! Over the years I’ve played netball (up to state level and travelled to the UK to promote the sport) and softball (representative level); and taken on athletics, cross country and road walking (all at representative level). I also dabbled in water polo and touch football but all roads have led back to the gym where I’ve been working out since about the age of 18.
As a young lady in her early 50s my fitness goals now focus on staying healthy (diet, body and mind) and being consistent with my fitness. Recently I’ve been thinking about focussing more on body building, rather than doing classes and weights, but I must confess to being a cardio fiend!
