Meet our Trainer of the Month Benita from PCYC Townsville

When did you join the PCYC Townsville team?

4 years ago.

Why did you become a trainer?

I became passionate about becoming a trainer after I personally worked with a PT after having my 2nd child. I still have contact with my trainer who encouraged me to follow my new passion. I fell in love with exercise and wanted to be able to help change people’s lives forever. I have been in the industry since 2004 and have loved every minute. I felt nutrition was letting my knowledge down, so I studied an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine and became a qualified nutritionist in 2017. I love being able to help people from head to toe, holistically.

What is your favourite moment in fitness or sport?

Personally,  my own goal achieving and over coming my fear of big crowds and competing in the Cairns 70.3 Ironman in 2021. I also love my members/clients journeys and being a big part of their change for a healthier being.

What are you training for personally at the moment?

I like to play around with triathlons so I try to keep my fitness levels through the 3 legs – swim, bike, run at all times, you just never know when an event will pop up. It is also a good way to enjoy some travel around Australia and who knows, maybe the world one day.

What is one word that describes you?

I would say dedicated. When I set myself a goal I am dedicated to achieving and never giving up. I am also dedicated to helping other people reach their goals through nutrition and exercise. Having a holistic approach to overall health and wellbeing.
