PCYC Beenleigh’s Community Fun Day part of Disability Action Week
PCYC Beenleigh’s free Community Fun Day will be held on Wednesday, 18 September as part of Queensland’s Disability Action Week from 9-15 September.
Now in its fifth year, the annual inclusive sports carnival is open to anyone with a special need or disability, with more than six special schools coming together for a fun morning of sports and games.
PCYC Beenleigh Disability Program Coordinator Peter Speaight, who himself has cerebral palsy, is excited to offer the event for another year.
“This year our Community Fun Day will offer 13 sports to try, including netball, AFL, softball, rugby league, hockey and cricket to name a few,” said Mr Speaight.
“PCYC Beenleigh’s Community Fun Day aims to bring people together in a fun and inclusive way to try different sports and enjoy a day out,” said Mr Speaight.
Supported by Logan City Council, the Community Fun Day incudes entertainment and a free sausage sizzle.
