PCYC Hervey Bay’s annual fight night a great fundraiser
PCYC Hervey Bay’s annual fundraising Fight Night, held on Saturday, 29 June proved to be a knock-out event well supported by the community, staff and volunteers, with fighters travelling from the Gold Coast, Beaudesert, Dalby and Murgon to go toe-to-toe with local competitors.
PCYC Hervey Bay senior branch support officer, Tammy Sloan, said the whole day and night exceeded expectations.
“We had over 500 patrons through our door with great boxing throughout the night,” said Ms Sloan.
The fundraising event will remain a fixture on PCYC Hervey Bay’s annual calendar, as it brings boxers together from all over southeast Queensland, in the name of raising funds for PCYC Queensland.
“It is well supported and creates much needed funds for our club, and the money raised will go towards programs and club re-development,” she said.
Ms Sloan was pleased that most local fighters were successful on the night, and that the highlight of the evening was the main event featuring local fighter Zac Lovekin against Riley Coleman.
“Thank you to everyone who supported our great event, and a big thank you to all the staff and volunteers that assisted to create a special and successful event!” she said.
