PCYC Queensland promotes the benefits of volunteering
As a leading charity providing youth and community services supporting 73,000 members through our 54 clubs, PCYC Queensland could not operate without the continued contribution, dedication and support from our thousands of volunteers.
Today, PCYC Queensland has more than 3,300 volunteers across the state, 500 of whom have joined just this year, who continuously demonstrate their commitment to our values. We have a long history of dedicated volunteers, many of whom have been volunteering with us for decades, and we proudly recognise that our longest serving volunteer has been with us for 54 years!
Our volunteers are amazing citizens, and often achieve their own accolades through their volunteer commitments, recognised at Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards, Volunteering Queensland Awards and Australia Day Awards ceremonies and the like.
PCYC Queensland has recently been sharing our volunteering stories and opportunities with the wider community, promoting the benefits of volunteering to students at local TAFES and university expos.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to contribute to your local community, enhance your employability, develop real-world workplace skills and experience and advance your career. It can even improve your health and happiness by reducing stress, meeting new people, keeping you mentally stimulated and providing a sense of purpose.
PCYC Queensland offer dozens of different volunteer opportunities, including administration, marketing and events, youth support, mentoring, coaching and so much more. Together, we are building safer, healthier communities through youth development.
