Recognising Braking the Cycle volunteers and program success

This week for National Volunteer Week, PCYC Gladstone has recognised the contribution and influence our volunteers have on our successful PCYC Braking the Cycle program.

At a celebration dinner previous participants, now provisional drivers, shared their positive life changes since gaining their licence and thanked the volunteer mentors for their role in that change. Four past participants explained the employment opportunities they were able to access with their licence and how these opportunities have allowed not only more freedom, but also greater financial security.

Our volunteers are the backbone of PCYC Braking the Cycle and without their work, day in and day out, this program could not be as successful as it has been. In the last twelve months PCYC Gladstone has seen 12 young people gain their licences through the program, with three in the last 10 days alone!

We take this opportunity to humbly thank not just our PCYC Braking the Cycle volunteers, but all volunteers across PCYC Queensland and beyond for their hard work, dedication and perseverance. You are improving the lives of others every day and we all watch you in awe as you make the world a better place!
