Recreational Gymnastics
Our newly designed gymnastics programme is created to engage children ages 5 and over in gymnastics in a developmental, fun and friendly way. The aim is to develop your child’s physical literacy through gymnastics – which means that they will develop their confidence and motivation for sport and physical activity. We teach the fundamentals of gymnastics and ensure that children develop confidence in using the gymnastics apparatus safely, for example, the ability to land from a height.
Children attend once a week. At this stage they will develop basic movement patterns, rolling, swinging, balancing, jumping, flexibility, strength, and coordination. Each term a progress report is done for each child to help parents understand how their child is doing and where their strengths are.
Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)
Squad Development (Competitive)
Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on four apparatus – Vault, Floor, Beam and Uneven Bars. These classes take gymnastics a step further for those wanting to compete. Along with routine and apparatus training, strength and conditioning is built into to provide the gymnasts with the flexibility and power to be able to perform more advanced skills at a more technical level.

Sports Acrobatics (Acro)
A gymnastic discipline where partnerships of gymnasts work together and perform routines consisting of acrobatic moves, dance and tumbling, set to music. Gymnasts perform routines; a ‘balance’ routine where the focus is on strength, poise and flexibility; a ‘dynamic’ routine which includes throws, somersaults and catches and a ‘combined’ routine which includes elements from balance and dynamic. Acrobatic gymnasts perform in pairs or groups. In each partnership, the gymnasts’ different sizes and abilities will be balanced to complement each other in order to carry out the complex moves. Some will mainly carry out supporting and pitching (throwing) roles, and are known as bases. They are then balanced with smaller, often more flexible, gymnasts who become the ‘tops’.
