Gym and Fitness

The PCYC Nerang Gym provides state of the art ‘Synergy’ resistance equipment. We have the latest technology to help you achieve your fitness goals. We also offer a full range of modern cardio equipment including the latest ‘ARC’ trainers and an extensive selection of free weights and equipment. Our Gym is fully equipped with ten PLASMA TV screens and SMA satellite music to entertain you throughout your workout and is fully air-conditioned so you can train in comfort all year round.

All new gym members are provided with a complimentary fitness orientation from one of our fully qualified personal trainers designed to specifically meet your needs and to assist you in achieving your desired health and fitness goals sooner.

For those new members joining the Gym we offer a complimentary fitness orientations with one of our fully qualified trainers. Please enquire at reception upon joining regarding booking days and times for all orientations. Remember to book for a reassessment and program review every 6-8 weeks in order to ensure you stay fresh and motivated as you continue to achieve the desired results you are after sooner. Our Trainers will review your existing program and prescribe new and additional exercise to allow adaptation and progression in your training routine so you continue to achieve maximum benefit and results.


9.30am – 11.30am Monday – Friday


Any participants under 16 years of age are required to complete an Induction with a PCYC Nerang Personal Trainer before accessing Gym + Fitness activities. Parental consent must also be obtained. A complimentary 30 minute induction must be orgainsed before starting in the gym.
Participants age 16 – 17 years may access Gym + Fitness activities unaccompanied and access the free weight area.
Participants age 12 – 15 years must be accompanied by an adult/guardian when participating in Gym + Fitness activities.

Group Fitness Timetable:

All classes – you must bring a towel, water with you and must be wearing closed in shoes.
Please note: If participating in classes for the first time, we request you arrive 10 minutes before class commences.

Lungs in Action

This is a safe, enjoyable, low cost exercise maintenance program in the community for people who have completed a pulmonary rehabilitation program. It has since been extended to include people with stable NYHA Class II and NYHA Class III heart failure who have completed heart failure rehabilitation. The aim is to extend the benefits of rehabilitation by providing a safe environment in which those with stable chronic disease can maintain physical and social activities.

Active and Healthy

Active and Healthy is an aerobic style class designed for all ages and especially for 55+ age group. This class builds strength and endurance whilst increasing bone density and flexibility in a safe, controlled and social environment.

Growing Stronger

Growing Stronger is a strength training program designed specifically for people at risk of lifestyle disease or those undertaking a strength program for the first time. The program is delivered as a series of supervised 8 week programs.

Yoga – Hatha
A form of yoga with simple poses which flow from one to the other at a very comfortable pace. The class focuses on relaxation, breathing, mediation, endurance and flexibility.

Hot Yoga
Stretch, strain and sweat your way to a better you with Hot Yoga. The heat helps the body warm up while it relaxes the muscles, increasing its flexibility and preventing injury. The heat also encourages an increase in cardiovascular activity and helps you burn more calories.

Yoga – Vinyassa
This is a power-style Yoga that aims to purify the body through increasing circulation – it is a high flow style strengthening the body and mind through synchronized breathing and free flow movements. It also strengthens muscle tendons and improves flexibility.

Pilates movements are practiced with control, concentration, precision and flow. It is important to understand not only the movements involved in Pilates exercises but also the guiding principles that transform these exercises into a holistic balancing mind and body workout. Performed on the floor the Mat class is very much attuned to developing the flexibility and strength of participants.

Cross Trainer Circuit CXT

The ultimate strength and conditioning workout-burn calories, increase strength and endurance with an intense circuit of cardio and cross fit based activities.

Ab’s, Butts & Thighs workout , on the floor & steps. Hard Core work out. A full body workout , but focus on the Abs, Butt & Thigh area.

A circuit style class that caters for all ages and fitness levels. Boxercise is an intense cardio-vascular workout that aids self defence and considerably improves strength and flexibility. In order to participate in Boxercise you will require your own mitts.

With a unique boxing focus this session will assist you tone it, work it and shape up. It is a cardio based class that is a great way to get in shape and stay healthy. The structure of this class has been designed for both men and women and will give you a total body workout using all the best cardio and boxing moves.

H.I.I.T & H.I.I.T Circuit

H.I.I.T has become a popular way to burn more fat. It can be applied to running or to exercises such as squatting. H.I.I.T is considered to be much more effective than normal cardio because the intensity is higher and you are able to increase both your aerobic and anaerobic endurance while burning more fat than ever before.

A 30 – 45 min freestyle indoor cycling program designed to increase cardiovascular fitness and endurance whilst decreasing % body-fat. Suitable for all fitness levels as you control your own intensity and expend energy in a controlled and focused session.
