Stress is something most of us are familiar with. There’s rising costs for fuel, groceries and bills, work life, family dynamics, and conflicts across the world, it’s no wonder.
But it’s not only adults who feel this stress, our young people often do too.
Tila shares: “When I come to PCYC, I’m usually really stressed and angry, and then when I start boxing, it’s like all that lets go. I can focus more now on school.”
Imogen adds: “If it’s been a long day, and I come here after school, it’s really refreshing, because I’m leaving all that behind me and it’s a different focus.”
Our programs provide positive ways for young people to release built-up stress and emotions, that they might not otherwise know how to healthily manage.
Millie tells us: “It makes me believe in myself and have better self-confidence. It feels like relief of stress.”
Young people can have challenging emotions, feel stress and anger, and PCYC Queensland is a great support and an outlet for these young people.
Building young people’s confidence and providing them with positive role models and an encouraging environment is important for their physical and mental wellbeing. When our young people thrive, so do our neighbourhoods, and our communities around them.
Right now, more young people than ever before are coming to PCYC looking for support and positive ways to build their wellbeing. You can help us make a difference – donate now, every dollar counts.
