Youth and Community Programs at PCYC Bundaburg

Blazers Youth Group

We are an Australian youth group with a focus on families, outdoor fun and education. We offer a diverse range of activities and experiences, including camping, leadership instruction, Chinese Dragon and Lion Dancing, communication, canoeing, geocaching, navigation, fishing, bushcraft, first aid skills and teamwork.

All older youth members are part of the Bundaberg PCYC’s Youth Management Team and work towards completing all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

PCYC is Queensland’s largest provider of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a multi-stage self-development program available to young people ages 14 to 25 that encourages them to set their own goals and challenges, work towards achieving them, and then be recognised at the end for sustaining the commitment they have made.

All older youth Members are part of the PCYC Bundaberg Youth Management Team and work towards completing all levels of the The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

Braking the cycle

A program designed to support young people complete their 100 hours of supervised driving in a safe vehicle with a volunteer mentor. Our vehicles are kindly donated by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC).

Participants: 

Must be aged between 16-25 years old

Must hold learners drivers license – that our team can assist participants in acquiring

Free volunteer mentor lessons (vehicle provided)

Mentor Volunteers needed

1 hour per week commitment with flexible hours available

Must hold an open drivers license (minimum 12 months)

Must have or be willing to obtain Blue card

SEPTEMBER 2021 SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Kids Boxfit (FREE) (5-18 years old)

Boxing Fitness focused session with bag work and a variety of body weight exercises, with some fun interactive games. Runs every Monday from 4:00 pm till 4:45 pm.

Elders walking/fitness program

When: Every Wednesday from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm with our Indigenous Sport & Rec Coordinator.

where: NEW Location each week.

what: PCYC offers a morning of outdoors, with light fitness and some fun to start off your day right.

Who: ATSI community members 40 years of age and older.

Gymnastics playgroup for under 5

A fun, energetic gymnastics program for kids under 5. Let them bounce their way through the gymnastics suit on various pieces of equipment with one of our qualified coaches.

Program runs every Second Wednesday from 11:00 am till 12:00 pm starting on the 21st of April 2021.
