Sport and recreational activities at PCYC Caboolture

KinderGym

KinderGym is a developmental movement program for children under five that provides a safe environment to develop physical literacy in a fun and playful way. Classes include fundamental movements, foundational gymnastics skills and activities to develop social, emotional and cognitive skills. Our classes are conducted by highly qualified KinderGym coaches accredited with Gymnastics Australia.

Playtime (12months – 5 years)
These classes offer a rich and wide variety of movement opportunities designed specifically for kids under 5. This is a free – play session and will start that will involve a beginning and end group activity. This is a casual visit class and does not involve any bookings, just come along!

  • Class Length – 1 hour
  • Class times: Mon – Fri 9.30 – 10.30
  • Cost per class is $9.00
  • Active parental/carer participation required
  • Free Exploration (Play)
  • Action songs, fine motor activities and parachute time
  • Obstacle courses involving climbing, swinging, jumping, balancing, and object management
  • $20 yearly PCYC Membership required per child

Tiny Tots (2.5 years – 4 years)
These classes introduce children to the wonderful world of movement in a fun and engaging way. Themes are used to link activities together and are designed to engage the imagination with stimulating challenges both mentally and physically. This class requires bookings which must be made over the phone. PCYC membership and Queensland Gymnastics Membership are included in the Term Fees. Trials are available for a pre-paid amount of $12.

  • Class Length – 1 hour
  • Class times: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri – 10.30 – 11.30, Sat – 8.30-9.30am
  • Cost per term $120
  • Active parental/carer participation required
  • Fortnightly themes
  • Free Exploration (Play)
  • Group Activities
  • Guided Obstacle Courses involving climbing, swinging, jumping, balancing, object management and fine motor activities
  • Simple Stretches

Pre-Prep (4 – 5 years)
Our most advanced Kindergym class teach fundamental gymnastics skills as well as the ability to listen and follow instructions. Themes are used to link skills and engage the imagination in a fun and interactive way. This is an independent class where carers participate only if the child requires. This class requires bookings which must be made over the phone. PCYC membership and Queensland Gymnastics Membership is included in the Term Fees. Trials are available for a pre-paid amount of $12.

  • Class Length – 1 hour
  • Maximum 10 children per class
  • Class times: Mon – 11.30-12.30, Tues, Fri 10.30-11.30, Sat 8.30-9.30
  • Cost per term $120
  • Fortnightly themes
  • Group Activities
  • Guided Obstacle Courses involving climbing, swinging, jumping, balancing, object management and fine motor activities
  • Simple Stretches and Foundational Gymnastics Skills

Gymnastics
Our gymnastic program, youth and adults, is based on the fundamental principals of gymnastics. We are affiliated with Gymnastic Queensland (GQ) and all our coaches are fully qualified to deliver the GQ accredited curriculum.

Trampolining and Tumbling

Trampoline and tumbling is a fun and interactive sport. We offer trampoline classes from Beginner to Advanced. Our coaches are experienced trampolinists that are qualified with Gymnastics Australia. Rhythmic

Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which individuals or groups of five manipulate one or two pieces of apparatus: rope. hoop. ball, clubs and ribbon, or freehand (no apparatus). Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation. Ninja Warrior

Our new purpose built Ninja Warrior course is up and running. Become a little ninja and get involved with classes running from Monday – Friday. No experience required and classes are split into beginner and intermediate. Please see gymnastics timetable in order to find out about our class times and cost. Adult and Seniors Classess

Adult tumbling for people aged 18+. Classes run on Wednesday nights from 6.30pm – 7.30pm starting Term 1 2020. Cost of class is $15 and bookings are encouraged. Please call the branch on 5495 7143.

Seniors Fit for Life for people aged 50+. Fit for Life is a fun and social opportunity that aims to help you improve your mobility, strength and coordination; the activities in the program can be catered to you and tailored to your level of ability or mobility. The skills developed in the Fit for Life program are used for common activities such as:

  • Walking up and down a flight of stairs
  • Hanging out the washing or fixing the car
  • Bending down or reach up into cupboards
  • Playing with your grandchildren

Classes are run on Thursday morning from 8.30-9.30 starting Term 1 2020. Cost of class is $6 and bookings are encouraged. PCYC Membership ($6) is payable on the 2nd class. Please call the branch on 5495 7143.

Boxing

Spiders Boxing Club.

The club is open to all ages who want to get fit, get strong, learn boxing or just have fun! Spiders Boxing Club head coach, Luke, is an inspired and passion driven coach and his stable of boxers compete at local tournaments and all over Queensland and Australia. All coaches are accredited through Boxing Australia and Bluecard holders.

Zen Do Kai
Zen Do Kai is a martial art which originated in Australia. Translation is ‘The best of everything in progression”. Zen Do Kai takes techniques from many martial arts such as Muay Thai, Karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu and combines them all into one martial art. Techniques focused on are hand and leg strikes, grapples, submission hols and kata.
