Soccer
PCYC Charters Towers is home of the Goldfields United Hawks Football Club.
Goldfields United Hawks Men’s team is for players 15+. Affiliated with the Townsville competition, the team trains weekly on Tuesday evenings and plays locally on home grounds here at PCYC Charters Towers as well as travelling to Townsville for games.

Junior Soccer Development Program
The Goldfields United Hawks Football Club run a Junior Soccer Development Program each season. The junior soccer development program is for ages 5-15 years and is the perfect way to introduce a child to soccer. The 14 week program focuses on teaching skills, increasing hand eye coordination, flexibility and communication whilst having fun and meeting new friends. Participants are taught the basics of soccer, practicing passing, kicking, dribbling and scoring with an emphasis on teamwork as each session finished with a game.
The development program for 2020 will commence in April.

Over 50’s Club
Are you over 50 and looking for something to do?
Why not come and join our Over 50’s club. Members meet once a week to participate in a variety of activities including entertainment, trivia, guest speakers, bingo, bowls and more. With morning tea, tea and coffee provided it’s a great social outing to meet new friends and have some fun.

Beep Test
The beep test is a multi-stage fitness test used to measure cardiovascular fitness and maximum oxygen uptake. The test requires participants to run back and forth between two lines spaced 20 meters apart within a time frame indicated by a series of pre-recorded beeps. Beeps start slowly, but gradually increase in speed with each new ‘level’, requiring the participants to increase their speed up. Once the participant fails to meet the opposite line within the designated time, they have reached their maximum level.

Each Beep Test attempt costs $30. Please ensure you bring completed medical clearance forms and photo ID.
