Healthy Lifestyle Programs
PCYC Queensland’s Healthy Lifestyle Programs delivers health and well-being education through group exercise sessions. Designed to assist community members to live their best lives and find their strengths in healthier living, the program aims to improve both physical and mental health as well as quality of life and self-esteem in a welcoming environment.
Delivered by an Exercise Physiologist and other Allied Health professionals and peer workers, the program is progressive and suitable for adults of all fitness and confidence levels. Discussion sessions are relaxed and engaging, with a focus on helping people find their own healthy balance.
All program participants take part in a one-on-one assessment with the Exercise Physiologist, and progress to group sessions when they are ready. The initial program is 8 weeks with sessions once per week, and participants can remain involved for as long they like. Every 8-12 weeks the Exercise Physiologist will have a follow up one-on-one session to make sure participants are confident in their personalised program.
