Choosing the Right Goggles

The right pair of goggles can make swimming safer, more comfortable and more enjoyable.

Choosing Goggles

Select goggles suited to your swimming activity:

  • Learn to Swim
  • Fitness Swimming
  • Squad Training
  • Open Water

Test the fit before purchasing:

  • Press the goggles onto the eye sockets without using the strap.
  • If they stay in place for a second or two, they’re likely a good fit.

Choose the right lens:

  • Clear lenses for indoor pools
  • Tinted or mirrored lenses for outdoor swimming

Fitting Goggles

  1. Place goggles comfortably around the eye sockets.
  1. Adjust the nose bridge if required.
  1. Position the strap around the back of the head.
  1. Tighten only enough to prevent leaks.

Good Fit Checklist

✔ No leaks
✔ Comfortable around the eyes
✔ Clear vision
✔ Stays in place while swimming

Pro Tip: If goggles need to be tightened excessively to stop leaks, they are probably the wrong size or shape.

Goggle Care Tips

To keep your goggles performing at their best:

  • Rinse with fresh cold water after each use.
  • Store in a protective case.
  • Avoid wiping the inside of the lenses.
  • Do not twist or fold the goggles.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight when not in use.
