Gymnastics

Recreational/Developmental Gymnastics 
Recreational/Developmental gymnastics is for children where basic and more advanced skills are taught subject to the participants’ ability and level of interest. Classes are of a fun nature and are for 5 year olds onwards to develop skills, improve flexibility, strength, fitness and confidence. Equipment used -Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor, Double Mini Tramp, Trampoline and additional supplementary or modified equipment. Improved skill levels, flexibility, balance and strength are expected outcomes. Recreational gymnastics can be broken up in to Gym Fun (5 to 7 years).

Gym Skills
10 years plus. In order to progress, and continue to develop skill and fitness, regular participation is desirable.

Level 1 to 4 Artistic Gymnastics for Girls
Levels gymnastics is for those girls who show an extra keenness and ability and interest in learning and developing extra skills and refinement in gymnastic movement with an emphasize on posture development , flexibility and strength and training for Vaulting, Uneven Bars , Beam and Floor skills as well as Trampoline for skill development.

Selected Skills 
A programme designed to improve flexibility, strength, fitness and learn basic gymnastics and trampolining skills. Skills covered will be subject to an individual’s fitness, age, ability and interest. Classes are for participants 12 years to adults.

Kinder Kidz
A parent involved movement education program designed for children 1 to 4 years. Kindy Kidz is a fun early learning program based on active and especially spontaneous play for young children. It is about learning through exploring and play. Play is fun and fundamental to children’s development and promotes children’s physical development, self-confidence, self-esteem and creativity. Accredited instructors conduct the classes. Parents/caregivers have an important role in supporting their child’s development through play and be a role model and a source of ideas and encouragement during the classes. Come and climb, swing, hang, jump, balance, bounce, roll, sing, dance laugh and smile.

Term bookings are essential and payment is required prior to start of term. Terms coincide with school terms.

Boxing

Classes for both juniors and adults, they develop both boxing technique while improving fitness.

All aspects of boxing are a fast paced fitness class that teaches self- defence and sparring, in a safe environment with qualified instructors

Judo

Judo is an exciting sport and martial art that focuses on techniques that equip you to defend yourself through the use of throws and grappling techniques. There is no punching, kicking or boring kata to perform. We offer judo classes where you can develop a strong body character whilst enjoying working with others under the supervision of a qualified coach

Dance fitness

Studio 21 is PCYC Cairns very own dance fitness group that focuses on the four f’s Fun, Friendship, Fitness, and Fundaments, for children, teens and adults in a safe relaxing, and encouraging environment.

Our classes aim to provide a non-judgmental zone where you can learn to develop confidence, friendships, and dance skills.

Our classes aim to help build self-esteem, co-operation and positive behaviours, while improving flexibility, strength and gross motor skills.

The goals set for all students are: have fun and work to our best potential, learn to participant in a team, develop leadership skills, to improve and embrace body positivity and positive behaviours.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net.
