PCYC Edmonton opened in 2013, due to a building partnership with the Qld State Government and the Cairns Regional Council. The branch is situated 10 minutes south of Cairns and operates as a cyclone shelter for the region. We run various weekly sports and recration activities in karate, mahjong tiles, and indoor bowls. We also host seasonal sporting competitions for netball, futsal, and basketball.
A range of youth development programs take place , such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and a Youth Management Team which opens amazing opportunities for young people to explore and develop skills. PCYC Edmonton also offers crime prevention activities such as Braking the Cycle, Basketball After Dark, Catch Me If You Can, Deep Blue Line, Brave and Team Up for the young people in the community.
In 2017, PCYC Edmonton was renovated to add a 24/7 community gym. There are a range of gym and fitness classes and affordable memberships for community members. PCYC is home to the annual Deadly 3’s Basketball Competition every year
