PCYC Mareeba was established in 2001 and is housed in the original Mareeba Shire Hall building. Our club provides the community of Mareeba & neighbouring towns to actively participate in affordable outside school hour’s care, educational, sporting, recreational & cultural activities, as well as youth development programs.
Our gym is a member’s only space, so make an appointment to come and see our private facility. All profits from our boutique gym are returned to our community for youth development programs and activities.
Every Tuesday, our Seniors Club meet for coffee, friendship, trivia, games, guest speakers and other activities and on occasions, travel on excursions. We have a passionate friendly Youth Support Officer (YSO) who can provide support and assist young people to re-engage with school, family and within the wider community. Our youth development programs aim to increase self-esteem and develop life skills.
Two Indigenous Community Sport and Recreation Officers (ICSRO) are based at our club. Each year we hold the annual PCYC Cup, an Indigenous Rugby League carnival inviting teams from as far as the Cape to attend. Bi-annually we hold our Indigenous Swimming Carnival that also attracts participants from all over the far north.
