Gymnastics

PCYC Townsville’s gymnastics program caters for children, teens and adults.  Did you know that gymnastics is among the best physical education a person can receive?  Participation in gymnastics during childhood has been widely documented to improve the development of fundamental motor skills; jumping, landing, and falling skills; as well as strength, flexibility, and overall fitness.  Our gymnastics pathway has been developed from a syllabus, ensuring that our members experience fun, safe, and progressively challenging gymnastics.  Our facility is air-conditioned with state-of-the-art equipment and your children will be taught by our highly experienced team of coaches.

Gymnastics is term based an lines up with the State School term calendar.

KinderGym

Our KinderGym program is a movement -based learning experience for children under five years and their parents or caregivers.

KinderGym classes are structured sessions, which introduce basic skills and strength building activities. Our program is designed to inspire motor milestones development, boost confidence and cognitive development and provides a platform for social interaction. KinderGym provides a safe environment for children to develop physical literacy in a fun playful way.

Our KinderGym program is a fun, holistic movement-based class designed to facilitate parent/carer and child play opportunities while enhancing motor development in children under five.

KinderGym Achieve (4yrs+)
Our KinderGym program is a fun, holistic movement-based class designed to facilitate parent/carer and child play opportunities while enhancing motor development in children under five.

Fees:

Term Tuition: $150/ 10 week term
Term tuition includes PCYC Queensland Membership and Gymnastics Queensland Affiliation Membership.

Recreational Gymnastics

At PCYC Townsville we have a range of gymnastics classes from Monday to Saturday. Our classes start with GymPrep for all our Prep aged beginners and KinderGYm graduates. Our classes than range from Gym1 to Gym6. This allows all beginners and intermediate gymnast to join our program.

Classes:

GymPrep (prep-aged beginners, 4.5yrs+)
GymPrep is a 45-minute gymnastics class specifically targeted at Prep-aged beginners.  We teach the basic shapes and movements involved in gymnastics in a structured environment that encourages good listening and behaviour.

Gym1 (Green) (6-7 years, grade 1 or 2)
Gym1 is targeted at school-aged children.  Classes are 60-minutes in length and participants will develop their coordination, conditioning, and gymnastics skills to assist them on their onwards gymnastics journey.

Gym2 (Red) (8yrs+, grade 3+)
Gym2 is targeted at school-aged children.  Classes are 60-minutes in length and participants will develop their coordination, conditioning, and gymnastics skills to assist them on their onwards gymnastics journey.

Gym3 (Blue) (Graduating class from Gym2)
Gym3 is targeted at school-aged children.  Classes are 60-minutes in length and participants will develop their coordination, conditioning, and gymnastics skills to assist them on their onwards gymnastics journey.

Fees:

Term Tuition: $170/ 10 week term
Term tuition includes PCYC Queensland Membership and Gymnastics Queensland Affiliation Membership.


Classes:

Gym4/5/ Bronze/Silver
For graduates of gym 3 or transfers from other MAG/WAG Level 1-3 programs.  Gym4/5  will continue to develop their coordinating, conditioning, and gymnastics skills to prepare them for participation in one of our advanced pathways, or to help them excel in other sporting pursuits.

Fees:

Term Tuition: $292/ 10 week term
Term tuition includes PCYC Queensland Membership and Gymnastics Queensland Affiliation Membership.


Classes:

Gym6 and Wag Squad 1

For graduates of gym 5 or transfers from other MAG/WAG Level 2/3 programs.  Gym6 and WAG Squad 1  will continue to develop their coordinating, conditioning, and gymnastics skills to prepare them for participation in one of our advanced pathways. WAG Squad 1 is the start of our Woman’s competitive program, training 4 hours per week.

Fees:

Term Tuition: $440/ 10 week term
Term tuition includes PCYC Queensland Membership and Gymnastics Queensland Affiliation Membership.

GymSports

PCYC Townsville’s newest Program for gymnastics is our GymSports Program. incorporating Free-G, Tumbling and Stunting , GymSports is sure to have something to interest everyone.

Classes:

Free-G Kids is a fusion of gymnastics, martial arts and acrobatic tricks for children aged8 -11 years.

Free-G is a fusion of gymnastics, martial arts and acrobatic tricks for teens and adults from 12 years and older. Participants will progress through the Free-G Syllabus, learning to move in and around everyday objects in a matter that is any thing but ordinary.

Tumble! focuses on the acrobatic skills involved in gymnastics.  Participants will progress from basic to advanced acrobatic skills in a structured manner under the guidance of a highly qualified gymnastics coach. Tumble involves the use of the sprung floor, mini-trampolines, and air track. TUMBLE!  is for teens and adults from 12 years and older. Tumble participants train 2 hours a week.

Adults Gymnastics

Adult Gymnastics

When was the last time you jumped on a trampoline, or it may be your very first handstand. Your never to old to try out this amazing sport. Adult Gymnastics is a great way to mix up your fitness routine or even to get into fitness. Whatever challenge you set for yourself, there is nothing better than knowing your tried. Build your strength, flexibility and control.  Our social adult gymnastics classes are a great way meet new friends and improve your health.

Our Adults Gymnastics Program is available for anyone who is over 18 and all ability levels are welcomed. Our coaches are accredited with Gymnastics Australia and our facility is fully air-conditioned.

Kinder FreePlay

Kinder FreePlay is an open-gym session for children under five!

The session aims to provide parents and carers with an opportunity to play and interact with each other and with other parents/carers and children in a fun and safe environment.

We set up our fully air conditioned gymnastics space with a variety of climbing, jumping, swinging, and fine-motor activities, and one of our qualified KinderGym coaches is on-hand throughout the session to help out and offer activity suggestions.

Session are on:
Monday, 11.15am – 12.15pm
Wednesday, 9.30am – 10.30am
Friday. 9.30am -10.30am

$6 Per Session Plus PCYC Queensland Membership

Judo

Judo is a tremendous and dynamic combat sport that demands both physical prowess and great mental discipline. From a standing position, it involves techniques that allow you to lift and throw your opponents onto their backs. On the ground, it includes techniques that allow you to pin your opponents down to the ground and control them.

All Judo members are required to have a PCYC Queensland Membership:$20/Child $30/Adult $6/Senior $60/Family

Archery

The PCYC Townsville Archery Club’s focus is on outdoor target archery with coaches. The goal is to provide beginners the opportunity to learn skills essential for competing, while having fun. All equipment is provided for first timers and competitions are held weekly. Archery is on Wednesday 4.30-6pm and Saturday (ADV) 8-12pm.

Senior Activity Group

Please note: Our Senior Activity Group is currently not running due to damage occurred during our recent severe weather events.

Our objectives are to have a pleasant happy seniors group.  We play games, and have a meeting every week with morning tea supplied and occasionally we have guest speakers.  We have regular outings once a month, fun and entertaining activities and trips. This group is focused on providing seniors with an engaging morning of games and cards every week. Occasionally there is a guest speaker.
