What I love about PCYC Lang Park is the variety of Activ8 Group Training classes and all the staff members that are very motivating.
My goal is to stay healthy and fit for as long as possible (no tuckshop arms!).
My favourite class is the Activ8 Strength class.
I love to do burpees and feel the heart rate!

Margaret walks through the doors at PCYC Hills District five days a week, rain or shine!
Now retired, Margaret hasn’t slowed down one bit. When she’s not in the gym, she’s giving back to the wider community through her volunteer work and continuing her lifelong pattern of showing up for others.
I have been training at PCYC Queensland for over 10 years.
For me, it’s more than just a gym. It’s the community, the friendly faces, the clean facilities, and the freedom of a 24/7 gym that lets me train when it suits me. My gym friends are my social network, we train together, support one another, and share plenty of laughs along the way!
I have been exercising five days a week for more than 50 years… a lifelong habit built on consistency, resilience, and joy in staying active.
My goals are to keep moving, stay fit, maintain supple joints, and avoid unnecessary trips to the doctor. (She’s living proof that consistency works!)
My favourite thing to do at the gym is the leg press. (Margaret is still pressing over 60kg in her 80s!)

Jenny is a legend of PCYC Sunshine Coast! She will talk to anyone and enjoys having a joke.
In 1976, Jenny became a General Duties Police Officer and stayed in the Police for 40 years until 2016. In 2021 she received a Bravery Award, and during her career was a part of the Committee that developed the Domestic Violence Crisis Line.
I have been a PCYC Queensland member since 2005, joining the PCYC committee in 2006 and I am a Life Member.
My favourite thing about the PCYC Sunshine Coast is the gym environment that has always been friendly and a great place to make mates.
I have always enjoyed exercise as part of my life, in particular interval running, bike riding and hikes. My routine consists of gym sessions four days per week starting with interval running on the treadmill, intervals on the bike, cross trainer and rower and then finishing with weights afterwards.
My favourite piece of equipment is the treadmill for interval running on the random hills setting.

Katy has been described as the heart of the PCYC Pine Rivers Gym+Fitness community – always bringing her warm smile, positive energy and unstoppable spirit to every class and conversation, no matter how busy her life gets!
I have been a Gym+Fitness member at PCYC Pine Rivers since July 2023.
I love coming to PCYC Pine Rivers because everyone here is super friendly and encouraging. There are also plenty of facilities for everyone to use.
My fitness goals are to lose weight, gain muscle and get to fit to keep up with my four kids!
My favourite Activ8 Group training class is BoxFit on a Monday night.
Besides BoxFit, I also enjoy doing cardio on the elliptical.

This month we’re celebrating Rodney, who brings his competitive spirit and infectious energy to PCYC Hills District. Having played soccer from childhood into his 30s, he brings that same drive to every workout and class!
I have been a member at PCYC Hills District since 2024!
I love the community at PCYC Hills District – whether it’s a workout, a class, or even our Christmas social games.
I was a competitive soccer player from early childhood through to my 30s. When I first joined PCYC Hills District, I was dealing with limited mobility and leg strength following several surgeries, including a smashed heel and muscle removals.
My goals were to improve my strength and movement, reduce pain, and improve my overall quality of life. With consistency, hard work, and the support of the coaches, I’ve been able to achieve those goals. I’m stronger, moving better, in less pain, and feeling good again.
My favourite workout is the lat pulldown – it feels great, helps my posture (and I get to sit down for it!) My favourite class is BoxFit, as it really ticks all the boxes.
Seeing progress every week keeps me motivated – and maybe beating a few people in class while I’m at it!

Shaun is known for being one of the most friendly and approachable people in the gym at PCYC Deception Bay. He is also a Member Services Officer at three PCYC Clubs: PCYC Deception Bay, PCYC Redcliffe and PCYC Sandgate!
I have been a member for a very long time! But I have really committed to the amazing 8-week challenge with my best friend!
I love the PCYC Deception Bay gym equipment. It has everything I need and enough variety for my training.

Kerry has been awarded the member of the month for coming to every group training class possible with a beautiful smile and always putting in 200%.
This time around, I have only been a member for 2 months. I was a long-time member 10+ years ago when classes were abundant.
PCYC Emerald is so good for our whole community, the young (but also the not so young). It provides a safe, non-intimidating place with a friendly atmosphere to come and workout (or not), feel included and supported, make new friends, have a chat and go home feeling better. With numerous programs for all ages, the price is affordable, gym is 24 hours, very, very clean with fantastic new equipment. I am so happy they run classes again! Bonus! Love them! I feel grateful to be part of a like-minded community. Thank you to all the amazing staff and volunteers for all that you do.
I have always played sport and tried to stay active, but it’s even more important as we age for bone density, mental and physical stability, weight management, immunity and general well-being (and keeping up with the grandkids). I have never been much of a gym person, but I absolutely love classes, so thank you for bringing them back!
Michelle is such a kind person and an amazing trainer with a wealth of knowledge. Thank you, Michelle, you have been a life saver.
My aim is to lose the flab and be more toned to feel comfortable within myself. Keep my body and mind fit.

I love training with my buddy Jacob, who’s the Member Services Officer at PCYC Deception Bay! I have started the Activ8 8 Week Challenge, and the team has really motivated me to complete the challenge!
My goals are to stay fit and active, keeping the motivation and want to challenge myself by currently taking part in the Activ8 8 Week Challenge.
As I’m doing the challenge, the exercises in the ‘Day Two (Pull Exercises)’ have been my favourite!
My favourite piece of equipment is the Bicep Curl Machine. I love the way it properly shows the work for it and stability.

I have been a member for over two and a half years!
The staff are awesome!! I love the community and the members! The range of equipment is also fantastic.
I am a 71-year-old training for Camino Pilgrimage Walk that is held in Spain! It is 780kms. Last time I was in Spain, I made the 600km mark. I am now heading back to Spain this year to complete the final 180kms. I am also actively training to keep fit and healthy to spend time with my grandchildren.

The leg extension and leg curl machines by far, as they maintain my leg strength, which is important for my training.
